What’s that cracking sound during a chiropractic adjustment?
Often Chiropractors are affiliated with the ability to crack joints. But what is this cracking sound?
When you first visit us at Maroubra Chiropractic & Health, during assessment stage we will look for general alignment, quality and range of joint movement throughout your spine. Our Chiropractors will also look for areas that aren’t moving properly or have a limited range.
One of the key tools that Chiropractors use and utilise is chiropractic adjustment. These adjustments help to improve joint mobility and function. Adjustments will be performed on stiff and restricted joints and the cracking sound is often heard as the synovial fluid within the joint, releases gas and creates a popping sound. Often there is no pain involved with this, but a distinct cracking sound is heard.
It should be noted that although adjustments are the most common therapeutic modality associated with chiropractic treatment, it is just one of the many tools in the toolbox that are available.
Here at Maroubra Chiropractic, our Chiropractors are experts in chiropractic adjustments but we also have other techniques which are used just as often to cater to each individual’s condition, diagnosis and treatment plan.
We always encourage patients to ask about what the treatment will involve and we'll happily explain in detail and talk through the treatment process.
